Helping women create better lives and brighter futures.

In 2012, The Advisory Task Force on Justice Involved Women and Girls began a poetry writing program for women in Minnesota county jails. In 2016, the Task Force approached COMPAS about partnering to incorporate the program into our offerings. We enthusiastically said yes. Since then, the program has grown to include Sherburne, Washington, and Ramsey County jails, as well as community based justice-involved programs in Anoka County. It has been featured in the Pioneer Press and the South Washington County Bulletin.

Read more about how this program helps women connect with the life-changing power of creative expression.

You can support women writers in jails by making a gift (please specify "Women's Writing Program" in the tribute/memorial space). Thank you for your support!
