The COMPAS Anthology of Student Writing showcases writing from COMPAS students across Minnesota!

From Worthington to Roseau, COMPAS Teaching Artists work their magic with students throughout Minnesota, inspiring them to find their voice and surprise themselves—creating stunning songs, poems, short stories, and spoken word pieces in the process.

Each year COMPAS collects some of the best student writing and publishes them in an anthology. We've published 43 over the decades and can't wait to see what today's youth will add to the collective voice of Minnesota students.

Our most recent anthology, We Are Birds Collecting Sticks to Build a New World, features work from each Minnesota school to host a COMPAS teaching writer-in-residence during the 2021-2022 school year as part of the Creative Classroom program.

Also, check out the virtual reading of our 42nd edition they’ll see how beautiful I am… from December 16th, 2021 below!
