Briana Beeman

Intern • She/Her/Hers

Briana Beeman is a longtime proponent and beneficiary of arts education, as her three theatre degrees might suggest. Briana was inspired to enter the nonprofit sector after doing her dissertation research in Puerto Rico, where the arts are an integral part of many people’s everyday lives. She is excited to play a role in promoting the embeddedness of the arts in Minnesota communities through her work with COMPAS.

Briana recently earned a PhD in Theatre Historiography & Performance Studies from the University of Minnesota. During her time at the U, she worked as an outreach coordinator for the Department of Theatre Arts & Dance, lesson plan-writer for the RIDGS K-12 Ethnic Studies Initiative, teaching assistant, and union organizer. Now that she has finished her academic career, she is re-discovering her creative side through painting, collaging, embroidery, writing, and learning how to play the guitar.
