Cahoot?! Physical Theatre consists of 5 performers and artists from across the country and beyond. They met and began dreaming of this ensemble while studying together at Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre, the premier institute for physical theatre in the world. All five artists spent three years honing their craft and began to devise wholly original work. The group’s shared goal is to create high-quality productions available to the public in the community and without a price tag. By doing this, they hope to break down the barriers of location, income, and class to bring innovative theatre to everyone.

TRONK: A Journey Home
In TRONK!, audiences encounter three bumbling adventurers who are on a journey to find a new home. But the magical trunk they use to travel breaks down, and they must repair their vessel before continuing on. As they try to work together to fix their traveling device, the crew realizes that they must first repair the rift that has formed between the three of them before they can move forward.
This show is performed in the style of clown, using recognition and interaction with the audience, moments of slapstick, acrobatics, and physical comedy. It is performed entirely in gibberish based on the languages of the performers’ heritage, telling the story without the use of English, allowing audiences of all backgrounds and language proficiency to easily follow the story.
Customizations: Sensory-friendly adaptations available, including lowering volume on sound cues and noises, and audience participation responsive and appropriate to audience age and ability level. The show has low verbal/ text-based components, so it is good for non-native English speakers and early learners.
“So joyous and uplifting. It helped me look at my own conflicts happening in my life,” and “This show and its characters really did a good job at presenting a situation where big emotions could arise. And how different people could react to the same scenario. It showed how speaking up and communicating with others is key to handling those big feels!”
