In the latest episode of our Creativity on Tap podcast, host Frank Sentwali sits down with Tracy Call—CEO of Media Bridge Advertising, author, former professional athlete, and unapologetic creative force. Known for her bold leadership and heart-first business philosophy, Tracy shares the winding path that led her from a quiet childhood in Anoka, Minnesota, to leading one of the Twin Cities’ most dynamic marketing agencies.
Though she once hesitated to call herself creative, Tracy’s story is filled with the hallmarks of creative thinking: problem-solving, reinvention, and vision. From navigating life with undiagnosed dyslexia to rebuilding her business and personal life after a painful year of loss, she demonstrates how creativity shows up not just in the arts, but in resilience, strategy, and human connection.
“I didn’t used to think I was creative,” she reflects. “But looking back, I’ve been using creativity to navigate my entire life.”
Tracy’s agency, Media Bridge Advertising, was born from that very impulse—to do things differently. Rather than focusing on traditional advertising metrics, she built a model rooted in deep client care, flexibility, and strategic partnerships. That philosophy has not only worked; it’s propelled the agency to national recognition, including nine appearances on the Inc. 5,000 list.
In this conversation, Tracy also opens up about her experience as an adoptee and an adoptive parent, and how that background shaped her sense of identity, belonging, and empathy—key elements in creating the kind of safe, collaborative environment she fosters at Media Bridge.
She speaks passionately about her team’s creative process, including weekly “clarity breaks” and regular idea-sparking meetings. “You have to create space for creativity,” she says. “Permission isn’t enough. You need time, safety, and intention.”
Tracy’s debut book, G-Spot for the C-Suite, explores the intersections between strong business practices and strong relationships. With an eye-catching title and an even more compelling premise, the book challenges leaders to bring more clarity, connection, and boldness into their professional lives. The metaphor underscores how aligned, thoughtful leadership can lead to deeper satisfaction and better outcomes at work and beyond.
Looking ahead, Tracy is most excited about MB Activate, a new division of her company focused on immersive community activations. Through joyful, in-person events, she and her team aim to counter fear, disconnection, and division by doing what they do best—bringing people together.
In a time when the world can feel heavy, Tracy believes creativity and joy are powerful tools for change. “The only thing I can control is my community,” she says. “So I’m going to bring joy to it.”
This conversation is a reminder that creativity isn’t something we either have or don’t—it’s something we grow into, rediscover, and apply in ways both unexpected and essential. Tracy Call’s story is proof that creativity, when combined with courage and care, can build businesses, reshape lives, and maybe even save the world.
