Libraries and Festivals

As libraries have repositioned themselves as community gathering and media centers, so too have more and more arts activities entered their domain.  COMPAS artists have performed for children's storytime, library "open house" days, and celebrations of literature, arts and culture held in libraries across the state.  COMPAS artists have taught video literacy, spoken word,  poetry, and world dance for library patrons of all ages.

COMPAS artists can present workshops and narrative sessions on their artform.  They can demonstrate their artform at activity booths, or perform mainstage shows for fairs and festivals.  Many of our artists can adjust their performances for an outdoor venue.  Check out our Artist Roster to learn more about the diverse array of artists available through COMPAS.

COMPAS artists have performed at a variety of venues including:

Caponi Art Park, Delano Music in the Parks, Thompson Park - Dakota Lodge, Lebanon Hills Visitor Center

Blaine World Fest, Midwest Folklife Festival - Folklore Village, Dodgeville, WI

Brookdale Library, Eden Prairie Library, Saint Paul Library, Buckham Memorial Library - Faribault

Prices for Workshops and Performances are usually the same as for school settings:

If booking 2 or more consecutive Workshops, each one costs: $95

Performances: varies by performer. Many individuals can perform for under $500. Groups tend to run $500-1,000.
