Pages of Music with Rolf and Carrie

Rolf Erdahl, double bass, and Carrie Vecchione, oboe/English horn, use their engaging duo of evocative instruments to excite children about music. Their intimate and entertaining presentations combine literature with music and inspire enthusiasm about musical topics. Their series of programs are designed for various age levels. They are experienced educators and accomplished orchestral and chamber musicians with a mission to keep basic concepts of music alive in the schools. Currently, Rolf teaches at Luther and Gustavus Adolphus Colleges and Carrie teaches at the MacPhail Center for Music.

Performance

Three musicians (oboe/English horn, bass, piano) perform Margaret Griebling-Haigh's composition of the classic story Babar, The Little Elephant.
Learn about one of the most famous composers of all time and enjoy the re-enactment of a concert by the little boy Mozart!
Rolf and Carrie read children's books about music while performing original string bass and oboe compositions.
The Remarkable Music Machine starts with Rolf and Carrie demonstrating their individual instruments which then become members of sections that make up the whole orchestra.
