Kimberly Oedekoven is a professional fabric artist and teacher who enjoys passing on her no rules approach to personal expression using found objects and non-traditional textiles. Recently, she starred in two youth educational sewing videos. One using only recycled materials and the other aimed at basic sewing and pattern techniques. She runs several businesses including a memory quilt business, product line KRO designs and re-BAG-it, a reusable, washable alternative to plastic bags, her major product line which is in retail stores.

Residency

Learn self expression, storytelling, and how to be green through a variety of quilting and sewing techniques taught by Kimberly.

Workshop

Kimberly Oedekoven teaches students to create a pleasing personal composition using the elements of art.
Students will paint, cut, embellish and design their very own original and personal piece of fiber art!
Through this workshop students learn how to be green and how to make and sew their own reusable plastic fabric creations.
Students will learn how to change mundane, everyday items into beautiful objects you can use again.
Students take old garments and learn new techniques to restyle it by cutting it up, and stitching it back into something that is new and unique.
