Daniel directs COMPAS' programming initiatives, including Arts Education, Arts in Health Care, and ArtsWork. He first worked with COMPAS as a writer-in-the-schools and has been on staff since 1988. He stays active in the arts as a freelance writer, with his stories and articles appearing in over 200 publications in 8 countries, including a short story collection, Tales From the Tinker’s Dam (Whistling Shade Press, 2008). His educational background includes a B.S. in Secondary Education and an M.A. in Cross-Cultural Studies.

Daniel was also a longtime youth baseball coach, whose 2 sons are now world-beaters all by themselves. He remains a lifelong vagabond traveler whose wanderlust has taken him by camelback, tramp freighter and third class train to over 90 countries, and counting.
